Common Uses
The primary military application for our static discharge reels is to protect aircraft and ground crews from static electricity during refueling and defueling. We manufacture many different reels for specific applications, please see our NSN / Part No. Cross Reference page for all military reels.
The design of our reels incorporates the military specification A-A-50696. Our rugged construction utilizes a fully enclosed, gasketed, spring powered rewind mechanism. A sturdy latching system holds the extended cable at the desired length. All bearing surfaces are permanently lubricated as well.
Our Reels are capable of operating at temperatures as low as -65° F and as high as 125° F. Storage temperatures are -80° F to 160° F. This allows our products to be used almost anywhere in the world, in almost any situation, to protect from static and provide bonding for refueling aircraft, liquid oxygen transfer, etc.
